Expenses for Patient and Public Contributors

We recognise how important it is that patients and members of the public can contribute to NHS ConfedExpo sessions and receive appropriate reimbursement.

How invitations work

Invitations to speak are always extended by the individual session lead, not by NHS ConfedExpo directly.

Discussing expenses

If you've been invited to speak, discuss travel, food, and accommodation expenses directly with your session lead. They are responsible for:

  • Arranging appropriate payment for your time based on their organisation's policy
  • Covering payments to VCSE sector organisations supporting speaker involvement
  • Identifying the budget for payments and expenses

For professional speakers

If you're speaking in your professional capacity (not as a patient or member of the public), claim expenses from your own organisation. You would not receive additional payment as you're attending as part of your professional role.
